چکیده

Two-phase dynamic FET !ogic (TDFL) gates are used in GaAs MESFET MSI circuits to implement very low power 4-b ripple carry adders and a variable modulus (2 to 31) prescaler. Operation of the adders is demonstrated at 500 MHz with an associated power dissipation of less than 1.0 mW and at 750 MHz with p d = 1.7 mW. The prescaler, which contains 166 TDFL gates and 79 static gates, i s shown to operate up to 850 MHz with an associated power dissipation of 9.2 mW from its 1.0-V supply. The operation of the adders and prescalers demonstrates the use of threeand four-input TDFL gates and a completely dynamic TDFL XNOR gate. The TDFL gates in these circuits dissipate only from 14 to 20 nW/MHz.

Design of Self-Timed Circuits Using GaAs MESFETs

This paper presents a method to implement hazardfree functional blocks for self-timed GaAs MESFET-based circuits. The association of the GaAs technology, offering better electrical performance, higher radiation hardness and wider operating temperature range than Silicon one, with the asynchronous digital design, which avoids the generation and routing of global clock signals and consequently th...

Latched Differential Fet Logic

In this paper, we propose a new circuit topology for creating complex logic circuits in GaAs. Latched Differential FET Logic (LDFL) is a fully differential logic family that provides complex logic function capability, tolerance to threshold voltage variations and complementary, latched-function outputs. LDFL is capable of performing up to eleven levels of logic in one gate, while still giving e...

Optically Induced Measurement Anomalies with Voltage-Tunable Analog-Control MMIC’s

Monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMIC’s) may be measured under relatively high-intensity lighting conditions. Later, when they are packaged, any anomalies found in subsequent measurements could be attributed to unwanted parasitics or box modes associated with the packaging. However, optical effects may not always be considered by radiofrequency (RF) and microwave engineers. For the fir...

Design Consideration of Dual Threshold Logic for High Performance and Ultralow Power Carry Look-Ahead Adder

This paper presents the design of high performance and ultralow power 8-bit carry-look-ahead adder circuits using two-phase modified dual-threshold voltage (dual-VT) domino logic method with the feed through logic concept. The proposed concepts are provides lower delay and dynamic power consumption; due to these two advantages it perform better in high fan-out and high switching frequencies. Th...
